About The Conversation Series
We had the great pleasure of presenting the 2021 virtual Conversation Series to our festival audience in 2021. We now present the series on our Vimeo channel to view at your leisure.
This year, held via Zoom, the Conversation Series was a key component of Crafted Vancouver’s annual festival platform.
Through the Conversation Series we strive to foster public appreciation of outstanding craft-based work. We are committed to featuring diverse craft-based artists and designers working in multiple disciplines across the craft continuum, from ancestral, tribal and traditional to leading-edge contemporary.
By providing a festival platform for established and emerging craft-based artists & designers and the gallerists, curators, collectors and other cultural partners who support and represent their work, the Conversation Series contributes important discourse on craft’s enduring role in our society.
The Conversation Series Flipping Book
Starting on 29 April and running through May the 2021 Conversation Series was an engaging collaborative dialogue between Crafted Vancouver, Rue Pigalle and Brian Kennedy Curation & Crafting a Difference – an alliance of five London-based contemporary craft and visual arts galleries showing at SoShiro
Maximising the benefits of a virtual platform, the Conversation Series offered a variety of experiences. Whilst ostensibly a cooperation between Canadian and UK partners, the craft artists, gallerists, curator and collectors contributing to the 2021 series are truly international, spanning a range of craft materials and specialisms with roots and references from across the globe.
