Cheryl Cheng and Mario Sabljak are behind concealed studio, a Vancouver based firm that creates architectural and Mother Nature – influenced wall panels and lighting. Cheng is a paper artist and Sabljak is a furniture designer. They started concealed studio together and combined the two art forms to create their distinctive styles.
Inspired by nature, their sculptures are a direct relationship to their research of fractals, insect anatomy, plant cells and crystals. Composing monochrome geometries, they want to evoke viewers to experience and step in and out of fractals of imagination and reality.
Their intention is for the viewer to experience the beauty of things unseen.
“When one looks closely at the intricate details of a leaf, an insect one perceives a hidden labyrinthine world” – concealed studio
