The EartHand Gleaners Society & Vancouver Park Board Fieldhouse Residency Program present how they use plants & wood for fibre, dying, and making instruments.
Join the EartHand Gleaners Society to learn how flax straw becomes linen at Trillium Park. Find out about the other plants used for fibre and dye growing in the park. Guests are also invited to our home base for our garden programs – a large shipping container at the north end of the park!
At the near-by Maclean Park Fieldhouse, 710 Keefer St, Uncle Hoonkies Fabulous Hornshop will demonstrate horns made from local wood and explain the craft process. The Hornshop is part of the Vancouver Park Board Fieldhouse Residency Program.
Have an evening stroll through the neighbourhood, beginning or ending at either of these locations to learn about the various projects undertaken with locally grown plants and trees, and learn about other programs in the community.
