Oarlock and Sail Wooden Boat Club is a non-profit society that operates out of a floating workshop at the Maritime Museum Heritage Dock. The mandate of the club is to provide an opportunity to build and share knowledge about hand built small wooden rowing and sailing boats. The club’s intention is to promote an appreciation for maritime skills and history. President Rob O’Dea will be presenting a talk touching on the history of the club, along with a slideshow of their current build, the Buttonswan. Board Director Daniel Friesen will give an introduction to a variety of the tools used. The talk will culminate with a tour of the workshop on the dock by boat builder Arnt Arntzen.
