Event Details
The invention of paper was a quintessential moment in history. Light, affordable, and resilient it changed the flow of communication and shaped our world. On it, we write, draw and paint, recording our lives and our humanity. We can build with it, cover our walls with it, eat off it, and filter our coffee through it. It is ubiquitous, versatile and malleable. It can be pressed, formed, folded, cut, and infinitely transformed.
On The Same Page: Transforming Paper
showcases 12 artists working with paper as an obsessive occupation, devotional labour and commitment to artistry expressed in this humble and familiar material. This exhibition of 2D work, sculpture, and installation elevates and transforms paper in unexpected and provocative ways.
